View Full Version : Civil3D Surfaces look horrible in DWF

Everytime we try to export a surface area to a 3D DWF, the results are abysmal at best. Is anyone aware of a better way to 'view' civil 3D surfaces?

It would be a big help if our clients were actually able to view their products before we built them. Unfortunately, we've yet to find a decent Autodesk software capable of displaying the Civil3D surfaces in true 3D.

I have my 3DDWFPREC sysvar set to 6, and it still looks like this:

I was playing around with this a bit and in one file, the 3D DWF looked fine so I tried it in a different file and I was getting similar results to what you are seeing. If I have time, I'll look into it some more and see what I can find.

Thanks Brian - I look forward to seeing if you have any luck finding a solution. This is driving us nuts.

Any update on this?

I'm using a surface built in LDT (so it's 3DFaces), but I get garbage results also.

Here is my source DWG file.

...and here is the DWF as viewed in Design Review.

Glad I'm not the only one - that's a typical result for us as well.
