Has anyone had feature lines randomly spike to zero elevation?

Perhaps I should be more specific. I created feature lines for curb and gutter, flowlines, crown of road etc. I have viewed the lines in isometric to verify if there are any spikes. I create the surface using the feature lines as breaklines. Then after working with the drawings for a few a while, the feature lines spike to zero in random places. Has anybody else experienced this issue?

Do the feature lines cross any other feature lines, or any alignments?

Items on the same Site will interact with each other.

Yes..I created alignments for the top back of curb..Should I have different sites for alignments and surface data?

That's up to you. But if you have an alignment and a feature line on the same site, the feature line will dive to 0 where it crosses the alignment.

I've encountered the same problem but without the alignment. I simply made a feature line from a 3dpolyline (with multiple, different z values) and it always throws one or two of the vertices to zero elevation.

That seems to be working alignments on one site and the feature lines on another
Thanks
