Getting a 3DS file into Inventor?

Does anyone know if Max can export a file that Inventor can read?

The formats would be.

*.igs
*.stp
*.sat
*.jt
*.x_t

*.x_t
It also can open several native cad formats (Pro-E, SWX, etc), but I wouldn't expect that export from Max.

First, if you have Inventor i think there is a plugin you can install that allows you to go back and forth. I'll get more info on that for ya.

Second, you might want to try and export it as a vrml file and then rename it. The formats are kind of similar and you might be able to get away with it. You could also try .igs
but its not all that great the further you stray away from parametric objects.
