Hi
This is driving me insane. I have created a new UB beam. But for some reason I can't chnage the start and end extensions. I started from another beam and changed the profile in the sweep. Any suggestions on where I went wrong would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I fixed your family. There was two problems. Your sweep line wasn't locked to the right reference planes, so I fixed that. Also the formulas under the "other" heading weren't correct to I fixed those. Now everything seems to work fine.

Thanks for looking at this. I
When you say that the formulas were wrong was it that they said 3000 +..... rather 3012.5?

Yes, that is what the out of the box ub family had so that is what I matched.

Keep in mind 0.2mm discrepancy in all beam extensions.

Keep in mind 0.2mm discrepancy in all beam extensions.

I have a feeling that the 0.2mm was built in on purpose. Without it, when you have the end extension set to 0, the beams would touch the columns, resulting in a clash when checking for interferences.

On a similar note I see a much bigger problem in the extensions parameters that the factory did not use the same GUID for all of the supplied families. So when you try to change it in a selection set with multiple families in it, the parameter doesn't show up in the properties dialog box == more tedious manual work.

Yes the issues between members having different parameters I guess is due to the content creation guys.

The 0.2 discrepancy is a Bug as confirmed with the Autodesk Team.
