VAL editor and Std Part preselection...

In the VAL editor, how do you specify parts as being for Company/Standard or
All selection? Is it by using the PAST (Part status) column? Of course how
would you know this because IT'S NOT DOCUMENTED ANYWHERE!!!

Anyway, after changing a few of the records to "C" (in PAST field), then
going back to ACAD/M, and choosing 'Company' for the preselection filter, I
still get ALL of the parts in the table.

Can someone please explain to me how the PAST field and Preselection filters
are supposed to work?
