View Full Version : Pipe extends past cleanout (modified endcap)

I modified the endcap with a new annotation and a slightly thicker 3D geometry and now the pipe extends past the annotation. I have a masked region between the lines in the anno that covers up the pipe in 1/2" but it still goes past on 3" and larger.
When selected the pipe end shows at the right place but the extension is still part of the pipe. I'm really confused here. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with some pipe elbows. Not sure if it's the same thing, but I would check and see if the "line" in the family is set to Pipe Fittings or Pipe Accesory (whatever the family category is) and not one of the subcategories (such as Center line.)
Here's a link (http://whosafraidofthebigbadbim.blogspot.com/2009/01/broken-revit-mep-pipe-fittings.html)to a post on my blog about the issue I was having.

For my cleanout, I just added the two lines as model lines to the endcap family and it works fine. For the wall cleanout anyway.
I am not able to place a pipe endcap in vertical piping. I have no problem adding an endcap to vertical ducts. For ducts, all you have to do is mouse over the duct in the floor plan, and revit usually knows what to do. For the pipes, I tried to do the same thing and it wouldn't create it correctly. I tried both my cleanout endcap and our pipe endcap family, which is straight out of the box.
Does anyone else have a problem with pipe endcaps?
