Sample Lines have nodes at the end

after much pushing and prodding, we've finally started a project in Civil 3D from the beginning. it's great, i love the dynamic updating between different roadway design elements.

the first time i drew a Sample Line Group, everything worked just fine. so i went back to try again using some updated settings, and now every time i re-draw them i am getting nodes on the ends of the lines and at the center.

anyone got any advice for me? i looked through all the settings and didn't see anything. thanks.

In your sample line style turn off vertices under the display tab.

someone in another forum was able to answer it for me.
