I'm having problems installing trueview 2009 on a new XP Pro laptop (Dell Vostro 1710).
Downloaded a copy today (our previously downloaded copy didn't work either) and each time I try and install it I get an error message telling me that it didn't install (Fatal Error) and look at the log file.
I've attached the complete log file.
The laptop has .net 3.5 installed.
Any Ideas/suggestions?
thanks

We need the detailed log, not the overview.
Do you have SP1 of .NET 3.5 installed?

Thanks Robert.
It's attached as a zip file.
As for .NET 3.5. Yes SP1 is installed.
Thanks Again

Well, the detailed log wasn't so informative either.
So, back to basics, I guess.
Have you disabled any virus scanner?
Have you tried the downloaded installer on another machine?
Have you downloaded the right bit version, i.e. are you running 64-bit?
Are you executing the Setup.exe or improperly running the MSI?
Are you installing from files extracted to the local hard drive?

Thanks again
1. No AV Installed yet - last thing to get installed
2. We have a downloaded version that is held on our network. That has been used as the default install on a number of machines. This copy was installed on another laptop gettting prepared at the same time. I also downloaded a fresh copy from Autodesk but I got the same error.
3. Yes. 32 bit XP Pro, 32 bit Trueview
4. Running the EXE file which then extracts to local C: then installs. Would like to use GPO but Autodesk don't like making things easy.
5. See above answer

Have you run MSI Clean and removed any current traces of DWG TV?

Nope.
Will do on Monday when I'm back in the office.
Thanks again

Robert,
Ran MSI Clean. no traces of DWG Trueview on the system. Removed .net3 and .net 3.5. Now they won't re-install.
Got to the stage where I've just reload the OS on the laptop and started again.
Will keep you posted on the outcome.
thanks again

Robert,
Update on the Trueview troubles.
After rebuilding the laptop and installing only the laptop drivers and .net 3.0, trueview 2009 installed and run wonderfully.
All M$ updates appled and it's still working.
Thanks for your assistance.

Happy I was able to "help", although it seemed a drastic "solution".
