Does anyone know if there is a way to "customize" the wiring tick marks. We are wanting to make it look more like our company standard.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Beyond the options available in the interface, no. I'm currently battling our own standards because the software has no hope of duplicating what we do. <sigh>

Please pardon the dumb question, but have you tried right-clicking the wire, choosing 'Edit Wire Style...' and playing with the settings on the Annotation tab? I don't deal much with wiring, but it looks like there's a lot of ways to customize the tick marks in there.

Best of luck,

I am looking for the same information. I do not like the standard tick marks that came with the program and I am trying to edit them to match my company standard. Also I am just starting with the electrical side of AutoCAD MEP program, so if anyone has some tips on how to get this program up and running (efficiently) I would greatly appreciate any information I could get.

What steps have you attempted?

Brad was on the right track. In the Annotation tab, you can set the Symbol drop list to Other, then you can select any block in the drawing (including your own custom block) for that tick mark.

Hope that helps,

Did the original poster mean, "I want different symbols", or did they mean, "I need to specify hot and neutral in groups"?

But since the OP never replied, I guess we will never know.

That's what we need. Is there a way to specify hot & neutral in groups?

Please post samples of what you would like to see or email them to me (toby dot smith at autodesk dot com). Based on what uers would like to see on their construction documents, we can explore ways to make the tick marks more flexible in a future release.

Here is a few samples. The top one is what we can do out of the box, 2 hots, 1 neutral, 1 ground.

The middle one has 2 groups of 2 hots and 1 neutral, and 1 ground.

The bottom has 3 different groups of hots.

Note that on the ground, the jog points away from the homerun.

That's exactly what we're looking for as well.

Thanks for posting Robert.
