I am using Revit Architecture 2009 and 3ds Max 2009.

I have a house with lights in Revit. I exported the file as a fbx file. I imported it into 3ds Max and performed a save as so it saves as a max file. I tried to render an interior shot and 3ds max kept crashing in the middle of the rendering. i think it has something to do with the lights because of things other people have said in other forums. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to AUGI!

You've got to treat your scene in MAX like a movie set. If the geometry is not needed for the rendering, get rid of it. If it is a rendering of the first floor lobby of a tower, you don't need the other 40 some odd floors for your rendering in max. Have look at this white paper for more info on how to optimize your scene going from Revit to max: http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/revit_to_max_whitepaper__2sept2008.pdf

The other thing to check for is your hardware specs. Care to post them?

It is only a single story house which i intended to do multiple renderings with and a virtual walkthrough. There really isn't much that i can cut out of the drawing.

What specifically do you mean by hardware specs?
