preview - list xrefs

i think it would be cool, if before you open a dwg you could see a list of xref that are associated to that dwg.
for example: i browse and select a dwg to open, prior to opening it, it shows me a preview (snap shot of the dwg), i can open full and partial layers, why can we not just see a list of xref associated to that dwg as well? that way i would not have to open the dwg and then go to xref manager and see the list.

Devil's advocate here;

If there are xref files, big deal they are attached or overlayed
as required to complete the drawing, so how would knowing
about their presence or absence help?

If you run standards checker it will show you the attached
xref files.
