Hello,

I was wondering if anybody has any thoughts on a easy to use web site software package?

Thanks,

Kirk

Hi Kirk,

One incredibly easy to use that still does high quality animated flash web sites is SwishMax.
http://www.swishzone.com/index.php?area=products&product=max

There's a short tutorial that shows how to do all the things the software can do. Also, it comes with templates to apply to the site you are creating. The interface is very user friendly as well.

Or, if you don't want to use it, you can buy websites that are already on SwishMax format, so you just edit it and add your information.

Check some templates at http://www.swishzone.com/index.php?area=products&product=sites

They are all animated flash.

I hope it helps,

Andre,

I am not sure about the easy of use. I have the 15 day trial and to get into scripting for the beginner seems a bit to programmy. How does this Swish software compare to Dreamweaver? Does Dreamweaver require scripting? What about Adobe Flash? Does most all animated web site software require the user to learn scripting? Where did you come up with your easy of use conclusion? Do you have any examples of sites that you have created easily?

Hi Kirk. I have no experience with scripts at all. Never used any to create the website. Actually, I mentioned it was easy because I had no experience and just by following the tutorial I created the web site. SwishMax works like a timeline: You add an object or a text, and select when on that time line the text will appear and when it will disappear (you can also select an effect on how it will appear and how will disappear). In another words, you say that object 1 will appear at time A, moving from left to right of the screen, will stay visible between time A and time B and after time B it will disappear by fading, just to give you a roughly example.

And the scripts aren't visible if you don't want to see them, because all commands and functions are accessible by menus. For instance, instead of using a script "go to...", you right click the object and say that when selected by one click, the object go to and runs frame XX, that will call another timeline.

Anyway, I've created a very basic website for an architect a few years ago. It is divided in two sections: Revit implementation and Architectural Services. If you want to take a look at it, visit the architectural services option, since the implementation business has grown and therefore he deactivated that option to give to it its own website (being created by professionals this time :p ). The website is: www.rzarchitect.com (http://www.rzarchitect.com)

I hope it helps,
