adding groups of curtain walls to design options
I have a typical floor for a tower and have skinned it with 8 curtain wall groups.
I am trying to use design options to show two iterations of windows and thus, I have created two design options for a series of stacked floors and am trying to move the groups from the main model to option 1.
two of my groups however are not co-operating. they want only to be hosted in the main model
any ideas why?
as background:
- all groups are referenced in top and bottom height only to their host floor
- all groups do not have any model in place components
Re: adding groups of curtain walls to design options
I am running Revit 2013.
I have a text "Commercial Design Using Autodesk Revit Architecture 2013", by Daniel John Stine.
I am working through the Design Options exercise. I am missing something with having the curtainwall show up in two options. I have tried to copy the elements from one optION to the other. I get an error message stating that this will cause duplication in the bill-of-materials. I stopped and undid the copy/paste. In the second option there are three extra levels of horizontal mullions. (If I had my way just these three sets of mullions would be in option 2)
I have been watching a couple Revit videos on Youtube. They mention a soft error. Might I be heading in what REVIT considers the CORRECT direction in having duplicated curtainwalls?
Could anyone shed some light on this please?
