Make Autocad start up a little faster.
Here is a trick I found out about from The Mad Cadder blog that speeds up the load time by disabling the digital signature validation.
- Right click on the shortcut you use to start AutoCAD, and pick the "Enable/Disable Digital Signature Icon" option.
- In the dialog box, uncheck the option.
- Restart the computer.
For AutoCAD LT
- Do a search for "AcSignOpt.exe" on your computer.
- Uncheck the option in the dialog box.
- Restart the computer

I didn't even know this option was available.
This should work for any programs you use on a regular basis.

Another trick to make AutoCAD run a little faster is to set your Anti Virus software to IGNORE AutoCAD extensions like: DWG, LSP, DCL, ARX, CHM, etc

You can also use the "/nologo" switch on your AutoCAD program icon. To find out more, just do a search in the AutoCAD help file and look for "no logo".

What does this do? Well, Autodesk applications loads a shell extension which determines if a file is digitally signed by displaying a specific icon. To determine whether a file is digitally signed, the shell extension looks into each drawing file before displaying it. If a folder contains many drawings, like your template folder, it will take longer to open.
