Curved profile roof (floor) deck
Hello all,
I am currently trying to place a curved profile floor deck on a curved beam. The flutes are in 90 degrees adjacency to the beams. I cna create a roof just fine with the roof by extrusion tool, but the roof does not allow for a fluted deck. Therefore I must use a floor. My CAD manager and I have been looking for a solution that is fexible.
We came across this gem: http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Revit/e...0-Using_th2930
I don't know if any of you have tried or even heard of this tool. I cannot find it in anything outside of wiki.
Another popular option is to create a sweep or extrusion in an inplace family. This makes it difficult to modify when the architects change their mind.
Any help on a flexible solution would be truly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Re: Curved profile roof (floor) deck
is it a curved roof or a warped roof?
I'm guessing you've also either added a lot of camber to the beam or made them a radius beam?
The image shown on wiki (if that's what you're going for would be warped/curved. Model it how it's built. 1 section at a time like a slice of pie.
Any change you could attach an image of the general shape you're going for?
Re: Curved profile roof (floor) deck
It is a radius.
I tried adding an image, but I can't get it uploaded due to an error.
We found a type of solution where we create a mass that has the same curve as the roof we want. Then created a curtain panel system and changed out the panels for a designed flute family. Works out pretty good.

now that's thinking outside the box
