Keyboard Shortcuts - OSNAP commands with the "F" keys
Hello,
I am currently switching from AutoCAD Map 2002 to 2006. In 2002 I had my keyboard setup so that I could use my "F" keys to activate OSNAP commands.
EG.
F4 - Center
F5 - Near
F6 - Intersect
F7 - Insert
F9 - Perpindicular
F11 - Node
F12 - Mid
I am wondering how to do this in 2006. I have found a way to use a "Temporary Override" but I have to use "Shift" + F? to set the OSNAP. When in the actual drawing I can use F4 to snap to Center but I have to hold F4 down for quite awhile. Can someone help me?
I just want it to be like it used to be!
Thanks

Hello:
I managed to set an override OSNAP Center to F4 (without shift key). See attached.

Hi "mvanstone" ( Sorry, I do not know your real name )
Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD 2006 General forum to this one as your query relates to the CUI.

RE: Keyboard Shortcuts - OSNAP commands with the "F" keys
Scott,
Thanks for the help. I've managed to change that override as well, however to make my F4 key activate the OSNAP center I have to hold it down for about 2 seconds. I want to be able to just hit it once and then snap to Center. Do you know (or does anybody know) if there is like a time delay somewhere that I can change?
Thanks again,
Malcolm

You don't want to use Temporary Overrides, but rather Shortcut Keys. You need to first create a command in the Command List pabne and then add it to the Shortcut Keys node under Keyboard Shortcuts. Once the command is added change the value of the Key(s) property to the "F" key of your choice.
