Turn of fire protection volume calculation
Trying to figure out how to turn the volume calculation off of a fire protection system. The proplem: the larger the system the longer it takes to make connections / fittings. The smaller the system the faster it takes to create connections / fittings. I believe the reasoning for this is that REVIT is constantly doing a volume calcuation to determine the volume of the system. I'm assuming that if that feature is turned off then it would not take as long....any thoughts?
Re: Turn of fire protection volume calculation
You mention Revit.
Is that the program you are asking the question about?
This is the AutoCAD MEP forum, but, if you can confirm the program you're using, one of the moderators can move your post to the Revit MEP area if necessary.
Thank you.

Re: Turn of fire protection volume calculation
In your System Browser, you can right click on the fire protection system, and under Type Properties, change Calculations to none. Hopefully that will help.
Re: Turn of fire protection volume calculation
I'm more interested in turning the volume calculations off.
Re: Turn of fire protection volume calculation
Are you looking for: Analyze tab / Spaces and Zones panel / little down arrow to reveal / Area and Volume Computations dialog box?

Thanks Dennis but that still does not turn off the volume calculation.

Ok, I see which one you are talking about. I do not think that one can be turned off.
