Revit 2011 - Material origin settings
So I'm fairly new to Revit and I'm undertaking a project to detail kitchens. Which is working out well but now I am trying to tile the walls. I set a material with a surface pattern and I have no idea how to control where the pattern originates from.
I've tried restricting the split surface to the exact width, but that doesn't help either.
I have search the web and the forums for something similar to this dilemma but I haven't found anything like it.
Your help is appreciated in advance.
Re: Revit 2011 - Material origin settings
Welcome to the forums.
If you define the surface pattern as a 'model' pattern then you will be able to select the individual lines in the pattern and move or align them to whatever location you want to use as your origin.
I'd also suggest looking at modeling the tile as a separate 'finish' assembly rather than splitting surfaces. Just my personal preference.
Re: Revit 2011 - Material origin settings
Hi Dimitri, thank you for your reply.
I did figure out that it is a model pattern. I see now that every time I add dimensions to the pattern or just try move it around I can't seem to select the pattern to align it to anything.
Edit:
At the moment I'm not quite looking to get into fine tuning the model. Keeping it strictly diagrammatic is key, for now.

Hah! I feel a little silly now that I've found what I've being doing wrong. I haven't tab selected the line. Such a rookie...

Ahh. Rookie mistakes. I never made those. I was an instant expert;)
Sometimes even veterans forget what they know. Glad you got it sorted out.
Cheers
