Missing Express Tools in AutoCAD 2004
I have recently updated to autodesk desktop 2004 and seem to be missing tools. I have no tools menu and can't locate text formatting toolbars, viewport toolbars and modify II toolbars. I was under the impression that autocad did away with express tools. Am I misinformed? Do I need to puchase additional tools?

Hi
Express Tools for AutoCAD 2004 (& 2005) are available, you will find them on the AutoCAD installation CD.
You need to install them separately (they don't get installed by default when you install AutoCAD).
Have a good one, Mike

I am making the assumption that you upgraded to autodesk architectural desktop 2004. Since this loads the ADT menu by default, you are simply missing the acad menu. You can menuload th e ACAD.mns and enable the tools, modify, etc. menu pulldowns.
A note of warning...make sure that any menuitems, or toolbars that have a counterpart in ADT should only be loaded from the ADT menu...items such as the format menu pulldown or the "Standard" toolbar are examples....
the rule of thumb is if it exists in the ADT menu, use it from the ADT menu.

Thank you. I did not realize that I had to manually load the express tools from the ADT CD. I am now up and running smoothly. And more importantly, producing dwgs. Thanks again!
RE: Missing tools in 2004
I really have a follow up question. Did the "remove duplicate enties " go away in Express tools 2004 (I did load ET w/ the installation when I installed 2004), if not where or how do I access it?
Thanks,
Dave
