Any way to get just the x coord of a chained polar stretch?

Can anyone think of a way to stretch the plan view length as I stretch the elevation view parameter? I have tried a bunch of things and not quite gotten what I'm after. I got the lookup to do it correctly, but I'd rather have the user stretch the polar in the elevation view and drive the plan view accordingly. Whenever I try this, I get some unwanted y coordinate mutation introduced in the plan view.


Any help greatly appreciated.
