Revit Arch. 2013 - What are some best practices for producing detailed brick exterior walls?

What are ways that other users are producing detialed brick walls? For example brick exterior walls with brick columns between windows and recess and protruding brick patterns above and below windows, arched brick headers at windows and doors, etc.

Is it best to draw the thinnest brick wall around the building then add to it by applying brick columns and protrusions where required? This produces multiple walls and will be tricky if walls need to get modified? Any thoughts?

The multi-wall approach is considered by many to be the preferred methodology.
