Default Re: Things to fix in Revit 2010....

Just to add a little fuel to the fire... I recently opened a call with Autodesk support because when a 2010 user walks away from their machine for 30 minutes the "timeout" feature on the flexlm license server returns their license as designed. The problem is, when they come back to work in the program, they are now in Demo mode (even though plenty of licenses are available) and they are unable to specify the license server. Their only option is to close the file without saving. This is a deal-breaker in terms of upgrading for us because the only work-around currently is to purchase additional licenses.

I am not the only one this is happening to, see: http://discussion.autodesk.com/forum...hreadID=725646

The reponse from Autodesk support was:

My name is ******, I am a Support Specialist on the AutoCAD Product Support Team, your Service Request has just been escalated to me.
The issue you have described is a known issue that has been logged with our development team. Unfortunately at this point there does not appear to be a workaround for this issue.
I am fowarding this Support Request on to our development team for investigation. I will log this change request and link it to the previously logged request. The development team will review our notes and try to reproduce the error. I will notify you immediately by email when your Support Request is updated. Please let me know if you have any questions. I appreciate your patience as we work to resolve your inquiry.
Please note: Not all issues identified in Support Requests are considered significant enough to address in their entirety; a proposed correction may create significant stability risks; some issues may be impossible to fix due to product architectural restraints. Whenever possible, we will work with you to establish an acceptable workaround.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We are continually interested in increasing the performance of our programs and the satisfaction with our users.
Best regards,
