Default delete unused plotters in pulldown menu

I want to delete the alot of unwanted plotter/printer selections in the pulldown menu. I am working with ACAD 06. I have tried to use right click - doesn't work. I have gone to the folder with add-a-plotter and only the plotters I use are listed there.

    Any suggestions?

The Printer/Plotter pulldown lists printers and plotters that are loaded on your computer or that are available via the Printer Support File Path. You cannot delete items from that pull-down.

However, if you are speaking of the Page Setup section (It's been a while since I saw 2006):

Does that version have the ability to Right Click on the Model or Plot Tabs and choose "Page Setup Manager"?

If so, choose "Page Setup Manager" then pick the item(s) that you want to delete from the available dialog and then Right Click and choose Delete. Please note, you cannot delete the current plotter.

    Hopefully this helps.

I just tried the suggestion of deleting from the pull-down menu in Page Set-Up. It did not work.

The printers/plotters I would like to delete are either duplicatesor printers that are no longer in use.

Still looking to have only applicable printer/plotters listed.

    Thankx

I'm not sure how correct this approach is, but I would go to windows explorer and look in the plotters directory for your pc3 files. If you have a stand alone version of vanilla autocad you may have a setup like mine. Try going to "C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\AutoDesk\AutoCAD2006\R16.2\enu\Plotters\" in this directory should house all your pc3 files. You should be able to delete them from the list. Let me know if something like this works.

Look in your OPTIONS dialog to find out the real path to your PC3 files. There is no way for anyone here to know where they are located. Also, any subdirectories in that location that contain PC3 files will be used by AutoCAD, so check for subdirectories.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned turning off the display of system printers in AutoCAD's options. It sounds like the OP has the all the PC3 files they need, so their other printers displayed might be system printers.

    Another good possibility...

Just got back to this issue. Turning off system printers was the ticket. Did exactly what I was looking for. Thankx.
