Default topography not visible beyond building pad edge

Why is it that sometimes, in some section views, the topography does not display beyond the edge of the building pad (but will display below the building pad), while in a different section view, in the same project, the topography will display properly both below the building pad and beyond its edges?

Default Re: topography not visible beyond building pad edge

I find this is typically a phasing or workset issue. The original topography is in the existing phase, for example, and the pad and the topography generated by the pad are in the new construction phase and the view phase filters are set to hide one or the other.
