Default CREATING A SCHEDULE FROM A GENERIC MODEL FAMILY?

    Help!

I have created a large folder of generic models that I have loaded into my project in revit. I need to do a schedule of quantities of these models and th eonly way I have found to get quantities is by doing a material schedule, but the material schedule counts all the materials of each model as individual elements and not as one generic model? Is there any way to have a schedule of quantities that counts each model as one object?

Under the Sorting tab, click off the checkbox for itemize every instance.

Make a Multi-Category schedule. You can then filter by Category.

    thanks the multi schedule worked

the only problem is that another office had created alarge number of their own generic models and i cannot seem to filter out their results in the schedule?
Is there a way to create a new folder of families with a distinct name that will show up as a choice in my schedules?

for example can i add a new family call "x" ?

Rather than trying to rename Families, I'd add a parameter like "Model" and filter the schedules on that parameter as needed.

I filter by Type Mark, and then give each Generic Model Type a unique Type Mark.
