    Default Curtain wall butt glazing

I thought I read somewhere that a new feature in 7.0 would allow glass to butt in corners without a mullion. how is this done?

Also horizontal mullions are supposed to join better at non 90 degree corners in 7.0 and this appears to be correct but, I seem to be having a problem with the top mullions which are not joining. Any ideas what would be causing this problem. Both walls have the same height settings.

I've always had to make a special panel family for corner conditions in SSG glazing, I don't know if 7.0 has a built in way to do this. But creating the special panel is very easy, just add an extension parameter to oneside of the panel family and reallign the panel to it.

When you select a mullion in elevation view, Revit displays a control at mullion intersections to select which mullion runs continuously at that intersection. Try to change this at the intersection that causes the problem. This happens often at corners.

    Scott,
Thanks for the reply but I am not sure I follow what you are trying to say regarding creating an extension and aligning it.

    Carlos,
regarding your suggestion about the intersection toggle. I do not get a toggle for that end of the mullion since there is no vertical mullion there.

Any other suggestions to get the horizontal mullions to join would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Here is a possible work around.

I created a new corner mullion based on the Quad Corner Mullion. I set depth 1 & 2 to 1" (matching the depth of the glass). Offset is 1.25" (to match the typical glass offset). Finally I set the Material to Glass.

While this is not a true butt glaze it does come pretty close to the effect.

Here is a copy of the file to show how it works. I'd be interested to see how others have worked around this as it's a detail I like to use.

    Oh, and file's in 7.0

    Good Luck,

This solution to an old question came out of the blue this evening. Example project and image attached.

    All the best -
