    Default Italic / Bold Text

I wanted to change all my text to Italic and Bold, so I checked the appropriate boxes in the Type Properties. However, it does not change any of the text. If I double click on one instance of text (in order to edit it), then click away to finish editing, the text changes to Italic, but not bold. I must edit every instance, highlight all the text and then select bold. Does anyone know a way around this? Why have the check boxes in the Type Properites if it must be done manually anyways?

    It shouldn't do that.
    I cannot duplicate your problem.
As long as your changing the type properties for the same family it should effect all the text of that type.

I checked with someone in my office that is running Revit Architecture and this problem did not occur. So i checked w/ another user of Revit MEP and the same problem occured. Could it be an MEP only problem?

I'm not sure about the romand font (isn't that an SHX brought over from AutoCAD), but it should NOT act that way with Arial.

I would try it again and make sure you're clicking everything that you need to be clicking and make sure the selected text is using the modified text style.

I just figured out why this could not be repeated: the text that will not change is text that has been imported from AutoCAD. (I am in the process of converting AutoCAD details to Revit.)
