Question Using Wye connection as default for certain Pipe Types

Is there a way to add "Wye" under "Preferred Junction Type" for a pipe type and then add "Wye" selection parameter? I only see Tee, Tap, Cross, Transition, Union and Elbow.

For sanitary and storm I want to use "Wye" type connection by default instead of a "Tee".

For now I took a built-in "Wye" family and changed its "Part Type" to "Tee" and then used it in my sanitary Pipe Type. Seems to be working ok but don't know if it's going to be problem later?

    thanks.

That is your only choice for using a Wye as the standard fitting in a pipe system family. It has been the only choice since the first release. We have done many projects with system families setup this way and haven't had problems.

All we can hope is that Autodesk adds additional functionality to the System family choices in the future. I think this would increase the likelihood that Auto-Layout tools give you a decent result as well.
