Default Converting a linked revit model to an imported model

Is there a way to make a linked Revit model to an imported model? In Autocad this would be similar to binding an xref. I want make a single file of several separate files.

    Thanks,

If I am understanding you correctly you would like to import several revit models into a single Revit file, for example you have all the building that create lower Manhattan modeled as seperate Revit files and you want to merge them all together into one scene?

Check the options bar when you select the linked file. You can bind a link and it becomes a group in the host project.

all bound structural framing loses its Work Plane association when you do this though.
been going nuts trying to figure out a way to make it not do this.
