Typically, an AutoLISP file will run on newer versions. Have you tried to run it and discovered some errors?

I have tried loading it and it says completely loaded then I try running it gives me this Error: bad argument type: stringp nil

could it be because the AutoLISP was created in XP and I am trying to run it in Vista by chance???

I doubt it. It could be it is expecting a variable that has not been assigned the proper value.

Can you attach it to this discussion? Maybe someone here can provide additional analysis on the file. You might also include a sample drawing if needed.

We use to get structual shapes such as channel, I-Beams, Angles and that such so we don't have to continuously draw them every time we use them

Initial review of the file shows that it has an associated .dcl file. Did you include it within your AutoCAD 2010 Support Files Search Path?

Also, would dynamic block handle this task?
