    Default Gap between connections?

When doing brace to column members, why is it that the members have a gap between the two connections? I can click and drag the member to look as though they are connected, but will this affect it in an analysis program? I was trying to design a simple 3 story structure with inverted v-bracing and the bracing does not physically connect shown on the screen unless i extend the member itself.

Try modeling the brace using 3D Snapping. This will help make sure that the ends of the members/analytical lines are connected even if graphically it doesn't look like it (due to the cut backs/end extensions). As long as the analytical lines for the members are connected your analytical software should not have a problem.
