    Default Replicate

What is the use of the replicate commando? I understand what it does but where or when would you use it?

By the way the following has happened to me often in Autodesk Help files. I see a word like Replicate in the program. I search on it in the help file and it find nothing.

(yes the new help dropdown does provide some info)

Let's say you work with two monitors (or one monitor wide enough to comfortably show two views). Then you would like to see the whole floor plan for level 1 in one window and the same floor plan on the second window, but with a zooming to a room at the corner of the building. Without the Replicate command, you would have to duplicate your view, since you can't open two views at the same time. With the Replicate command you can just replicate level 1 and it will just open the level 1 view again, allowing you to zoom where you want while still seeing the same view just beside and showing the entire floor plan. Anything you do to any of the views will show in both at the same time.

    I hope it helps.
