Hi Alan, maybe they are off in the Visibility/Graphics overides for the view. Check under Annotations that grids are ticked for your elevation.
If you are using a section for your elevations make sure the grid lines are cut by your section. If not make the grid lines longer.
Hi Peter
I've checked that they are ticked on in the Visibility/Graphics overides for the view by checking under Annotations that grids are ticked for the elevation.
I cut a section and originally gridline A showed and the reference line but Grid Line B and the next reference line did not!.
So I deleted grid line A and made a copy, renamed it B and bingo it's in the section but still not on the elevations?
I've uploaded some graphics so you can see what can not be seen if you know what I mean........
Now I'm even more confused.....
Started again ~ drew a simple box grid system 2 vertical 2 horizontal and checked the elevations ~ great the grid lines show up in the elevations.
load my AutoCAD reference drawing
check the elevations again and the grid line are still there.....good so far....
Delete the gridlines so that I can trace the AutoCAD Reference drawing
Check the elevations ~ NO GRID LINES !!!!!!!!!
I'm confused dot com......sitting with head in hands tryiing to figure this out!
Gridlines have to be perpendicular to the view.
If they are not they don't show. create a view that is perpendiculair to the grid and then it should show.
Thanks for that information
If you look at the shape of this building I don't see how I could do that!!
I've just googled and have found a video tutorial showing a get around at
http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to/vi...e-255293/view/
sorry Alan, I didn't realise that the grids weren't perpendicular to the sections you were producing.
Thanks for the video link.
Peter
No problem ..... I was teaching myself Revit 2008 at home in the evenings then moved company just over a year ago. My current company has just purchased Revit 2010 and I'm going on a training course in a couple of weeks so I'm trying to learn again in the evenings and get back on the learning curve before the course so that I can get the Max from it.
The building is a current scheme that is so un-rectilinear that it just begs to be attempted in Revit. The building is terraced as it goes up and has a unique roof that will also present a challenge to a Revit Newbie like me ;0)
