Default Import by layer problems (...---...)

I have imported window elevations "by layer" from Autocad.

I then selected the appropriate layer and extruded the different parts, (frame 5.5", sash 1.5", mullions 1", glass 1/4"...etc...)

This worked great all of the windows developed at once.

The problem is ( and I think you all ready know ) I can't move the individual geometry. When I select one widow sash, all sashes are selected. I now need to edit and move these windows to different locations without them moving as a group. If I import "by entity" I think it would be much more difficult to Isolate and extrude. What the heck????

    Thanks for any help, Josh

No big deal, Josh. You have a modifier applied to several objects, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. To edit individual splines you will need to go into sub-object mode. A tell-tale sign of a modifier being used on multiple objects is that the text in the modifier list will be in italics.

The other possible thing that Josh could be after is that all window glass is one object due to his import option. To have each window in the elevation have its glass be separate (or whatever object you want), apply an edit poly modifier (or convert to an edit poly if you are ok with losing your extrusion parameters), go into polygon sub-object mode, select the polygons you want to move independently and use the Detach option in the command panel.
