    Default Toposurface materials not showing

Does DWF not retain materials in a toposurface?

I've got a site model that we want to export to 3d DWF for a client meeting but the materials are not showing up at all in the topo. THe pathways and sidewalks are critical to this meeting.

We can open and use the Revit model but there are 40 buildings in there and it is rather slow on the conference room computer.

Already checked the DWF print settings and the Design Review 2010 shading settings.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Sorry this will be too late for you.
At this time, materials per se are not supported in Design Review and you cannot see much more than colours.
Its blobsville presently, however we hope that over tme the manufacturer will recognise that a promotion of an industry wide tool for collaboartion and above all communication, (in a BIM context particularly, but also more widely, in a contemporary context, the lack of visible texture with the supporting attributes, is a notable disappointment and a hinderance to production), does require a symbiotic relaiotnship with the master / main suites for design and production
(suggest this would have been far more useful than a Ribbon).

There is a way to get materials in a dwf model but it requires the use of 3ds Max and there are definately steps involved. First the application whether it Revit or Civil 3D must have materials in the model. Next export the file as a .dwg. Then import the .dwg into 3ds Max. Watch this video by Louis Marcoux. It describes to a "T" how to bake materials to a dwf. Hopefully that helps! While it is a bit of a workflow, it is still better than the previously mentioned blob effect model.
