hatching

I am using autoCAD 06. When i create a hatching, it places everything around the hatch in a group and in the same layer, so when selecting afterwards, it selects everything the hatching touches. I there some group command, or something i can just turn off?

In options under the Selection tab, uncheck Associative Hatch near the bottom left.

Thanks a bunches!! I don't think you should explode mtexts though... u give some of us headaches. =(
