Default arg. profile file won't load

When I start AutoCAD ADT, it goes to the default arg. file, even if I set my profile to current after startup. So my default templates, etc will not load upon startup.
acad.lsp it set to load with my profile. Everything appears to be pathed correctly with my custom arg. but it does not help since the arg. does not load

    Any help appreciated

    Mike

There may be a /p switch in your shortcut icon that is loading a profile that is not current.

How can I change this? I see if I open props in my shortcut, there is a long path in the target field. But not sure if I should mess with it.

If you tell AutoCAD to load a certain ARG file at startup, and there is an existing profile with the same name, the ARG file is ignored.

    Look for something like
    /p "profilename"
at the end of the target line, and remove it, or make a copy of the shortcut and edit the copy.

They have different names, There is the out of the box default profile (Arch Imperial), then the profile I created (Mike), but the default profile was reset, so now it always opens the default profile. I always thought AutoCAD would remember the profile you set as current, along with all the file paths...

but it sounds like I have to do one of the following:
    customize the default profile
change the target in the shortcut

    Does this sound right?

Removing the /p in the target should load the last current profile.

Try renaming the file from myprofile.arg to myprofile.reg. Double-click it then open acad and see what's happened. Rename it afterward.
