Symbol Clarity

I could use some help. I have a shear wall symbol that is used often and I want to be able to set a boundry around it to trim out any lines or elements that might be intersecting the symbol.

I would also like to be able to do this for all tags that we use. I will upload the shear wall symbol for anyone to play with.

Add a masking region to your family.

Adding the masking region did not have the desired result. I followed the instructions from the help menu but these changes have not masked the elements running thru the annotation. Is this something (masking region) that needs to be added to each instance in the plan sheets or can I define the masking region in the family editor and have it update at all instances in the project.
