Unhappy GBXML from Revit confused by phases

This applies to both Revit MEP and Revit Architecture 2010... though in one I'm working with rooms and in the other with spaces. The exported spaces and shading are not working because they have overlapping faces and or holes where windows were demo'd from an existing building and a new door was put in.

Screen shots of one of the locations.

    Andre,
Are the holes in the Analytical Surfaces View of the gbXMl Export dialog, or just in Ecotect after import?

The preview looks fine, but in both ecotect and IES the holes show up.

Can you post a screen capture of the gbXML Export dialog in the problem area?

My bad memory, it is also wrong in the export preview. This is the export window for REVIT MEP

Red face Re: GBXML from Revit confused by phases

Double wrong, it's the same problem, possibly worse from Revit Architecture 2010. Oddly, in both cases I'm using the same settings from the same model, just opening it up in the two different versions depending on what tools I need (primarly spaces vs rooms).

    Andre,
Looks like there's some funky stuff going on with phasing and that wall. The final thng I'd like to see is what's going on in the particular Room/Space in question.

Turn on a Shaded View rather than the default Wireframe (bottom left button in the dialog), select the Room/Space in the Right hand tree and expand it to see what kinds of Surface Types are being generated. I'm interested to see if we're just missing the Surfaces or interpreting them as Air.

Send that screen grab and we should be down to the source of the problem.

    Cheers,

Here are the additional screen captures, all from Revit Architecture 2010 (which includes two rooms at this trouble spot, in MEP, I only care about the occupied space, not the hallway)

This export preview tool is really quite useful for trouble shooting... it looks to me like the demo'd windows from the previous phase are showing up. I don't think it's holes, I think it's windows.

Cool Re: GBXML from Revit confused by phases

FWIW, here are a few screen shots of other places where this is occuring, and they all seam to be places where an opening is demo'd and another opening of a different size is inserted in a way which includes the infill of the demo'd opening, or curtain wall.

Let me know if you just want the model to look at (though I have to say, I didn't draw it and it's a bit ugly in places... especially the structural model, eek!)

Thanks Andre for providing the background. I'll pass this to our QA team to take a look. This may be a known limitation, but it doesn't ring a bell with me.
