Parts of Dimension Strings Disappear or are Hidden

I'm using Revit Structure 2010. There are dimension strings all over the project I am working on. For some reason, there are parts of the dimension strings that are hidden or have disappeared. The strings appear to be connected as one when selected, but there are gaps where there should be dimensions. If I erase and re-dimension, it works ok, but it is a waste of time to do this. I am the only one who has used the file, and this was not happening on Friday. Any ideas of what could be the cause? Perhaps some visibility settings?

Are you using Hardware accelleration?
Do you have the latest driver?

If you refresh the screen (hit "F5") do they reappear?
Do they print?

Were any of the objects the dimensions where attached to hidden in view? Are any of the objects being dimensioned being cropped in the view. When working with dependent views be careful that items you dimension in the main view are not cropped by the dependent view.

-Not sure about my driver...what driver are you referring to? how do I check to see which version I have?

-F5 doesn't change anything.

-They don't show up in prints.

Click the Show Hidden Elements button at the bottom (light bulb) to see if any hidden elements and/or dimensions show up in magenta.

few guys are having an issue. In RVT14 str, a string of dims have been used in an elevation / section to denote rebar intent. For some reason, they now don't show now

they don't seem to be filtered off
they have not been hidden by element
not deleted

they show when you click show hidden elements (light bulb) but you cannot make them visible again
If you redraw, they show up

any ideas?

They are are dimensioning something that is turn off. (maybe a reference line or plane that was used to place the rebar, but hidden afterword)
