xref fading

Hello All,

My question is as follows.

Situation:
In my general arrangement drawing, that consists of several xrefs, made up of solid models, I have been trying to find out if there is a way to fade an individual xref, so that it becomes semi-transparent while maintaining the solidness of the other xrefs.

I am trying to make it so that I can see through a building to see the contents of the building, in this case the piping and vessels contained within.

Is there an easy way to do this or is this to be a wish list item.

Currently using Autocad 2010.

I hope this makes sense. Any help is greatly appreciated

Simple answer = no (unless someone knows otherwise).
You could assign a "glass" type material to the enclosing object and/or create a translucent Visual Style.

I didn't think there was a way but one just never knows.

I will try the glass material idea and see if that works.
