Can someone show me how to do the following?
I want to make a box symbol with a “Spot Elevation” inside the box, so that when I place the box symbol on a slab, it will show the right elevation.

Create a new Annotation Symbol, Spot Elevation Symbol, drawing just the box in the size you want, keeping in mind that the reference lines indicate where your text will go (bottom center of the text) when you place the symbol in the project.
Load the symbol into your project, then create a new Spot Elevation type, selecting your symbol. If the Symbol selection is greyed out, look further down in the Type Properties box for Text Location. Set that to Above Leader, and then you can choose your Symbol Type. Set 'Text Offset from Leader' and 'Text Offset from Symbol' to 0.
Now when you place the Spot Elevation in your project, first uncheck Leader in the Option Bar, click once to place the text, then just above that to place the box.
Thanks Daniel.
I will try your tip.

I tried to add an extra tag with this symbol that I just made but with no luck at all.
The reason can be is that: Spot Elevation is a system family and what I am trying to combine with it is a floor tag.
Should anyone knows a trick to do this, just let me know. For clarity, I want to create one annotation in one placement, on the leftside a floor tag showing the slab thickness and on the rightside the spot elevation of the floor plan.
Thanks in advance.
