Unhappy Stretch in a different direction

    Hi guys,

For some time i've been experimenting with blocks, but now i want to do something which just doesn't work. Been trying for 2-3 hours..Maybe (probably) someone on this forum is able to help me?

I want to polar stretch the line so it fits between the circles when i use the rotate action.

edit: changed the version of attachment

    Good Morning

If you save it back a couple of versions more people could access your block, unless I am the only one left running 2009.

Hav eyou tried setting your parameter to center and then apply a stretch action to each leg of the parameter?

Not sure if what I have done will be helpful or not, sure would help to see a drawing showing the desired results.

The highest point of the white line needs to stay in the same position in relation to the turning green lines.. but you´re very close!

One step closer, set the rotate action so it has an independant base point. See note in drawing.

Thumbs up Re: Stretch in another direction

    Great work John!

Too be honest: I did allready try an independent base point, but it didn´t work good..
Guess I applied the rotation action on the distance1 parameter, while you selected the line as well.

Wink Re: Stretch in another direction

    Hey John (and other viewers)!

It's me again! At first I thought you had solved all my problems but after a better look it seems you missed something..

So I changed the drawing again to let you see what I want: the white line has to fit between the two white circles. The movement of the white circle & green lines is right the way it's drawn now.

(allready many thanks for your effort though!)

A quick cheat is to add another polar parameter with one grip, add it to the rotate parameter for the white line. After rotating you only have to drag the end of the white line to the intersection of the white circle.

There is hopefully a more elegant solution to this problem but it is early and I still haven't had my coffee yet.
