    Default HVAC Zone Color Legend

I am preparing a schematic report for a new job, and we typically show color block diagrams of AHU zoning. I have grouped my spaces into zones that represent AHUs (for now). I have assigned a color fill scheme to the Zones, and the floor plans look the way I want them to. However, I would also like a legend to show up keying the colors to the AHU numbers. It seems like when you apply a color scheme like I did, that a legend automatically pops up, and you have the option to hide it. But the legend doesn't show up, and I can't figure out how to get it to show up. I have checked the V/G settings, and "Color Fill Legends" is checked. I searched the help file and this forum, and have only found ways to rename the legend or hide the legend. How do you get the legend to show up? Has anyone tried this in 2010 yet?

The Legend tool is found on the Architect ribbon tab...as shown in the attached image. Obvious location Is this what you are having an issue with?

The "legend" is an annotation element that needs to be added to the view.

It appears that the only place to access this legend in Revit MEP is on the Architect Ribbon, on the Room & Area pane (middle right button).

Pipe and Duct legends (which are different than the zone / space / room legend) can be accessed on the analyze tab.

that's what I was looking for! Thanks!

As a suggestion, this should be placed elsewhere OR the button should be renamed "color fill legend". I had assumed that this button made a new symbol legend. I see that when I click on Legend, it goes to a contextual ribbon that is labeled "place color scheme legend" but it's still a rather obscure location. I assume from the responses that I'm not the only one with this opinion.

Can you get the legend to be a halftone?
I can get the area plan colors halftone but I cannot find where to get the legend halftone.

I don't believe you can, the Annotation Category "Color Fill Legends" has the Halftone box grayed out, there is no check box to make it halftone. There may be a workaround but the initial answer is no.

    That is what I thought.
I told them just to change their colors all the way around. If they want them halftone then just make them halftone and the legend would be the same.
