    Default Viewport affects paperspace

I am having a problem with a layout tab that contains a single viewport and a titleblock. I am able to plot and make .pdf files fine with a particular view. When I copy the layout tab and pan inside the viewport to a different area of my drawing I lose my titleblock. Any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to fix it?

    Thanks,

Could you post the file so we can look at it?

*Note: Moved this thread from the Plotting forum to this one. Believe it would be better served here.*

    gpope,

Thanks for your help. I have stumbled onto part of the solution in responding to your request. The file is too large (over 2MB) to post. While I was deleting some of the extra information in order to get the file size down I previewed the plot again and it started to show all of the information. I have a feeling that my problem is related to file size somehow. If you would like I can email the file directly to you since the trimmed-down version lacks a problem.

    Hi

What's the file size if you place the drawing file in a ZIP file.... small enough to post?

    Have a good one, Mike

It is a 9MB file and compresses to about 7.4MB.

The first thing that comes to my mind is the title block is
in model space and the viewport encompasses it.
When you pan your view you effectively remove the title block
from view. Verify that the title block elements are NOT in
model space, if they are, you may either need to make another
copy to enclose your new view OR best practice would be to
get the title block elements into paper space on the layout tab
and then place a viewport within the borders of your title block.

Thumbs up Re: Viewport affects paperspace

Thanks to everyone for your assistance. It turns out that one of the architectural files being x-ref'd into by background had an error. We ran the Audit command, it found and fixed one error and the layouts are plotting correctly now. One of those commands that is rarely used by me, only takes a second, and can't hurt to try. It is now on the top of my list when trying to fix problems. I really appreciate how quickly you all responded to my dilemma and look forward to using this tool in the future.
