    Default dogleg in alignment?

I have a roadway crossing another. I need to stop my stationing where I intersect the cross-roadway then start it up again with the same station a little further down the cross-roadway. How can I do this besides having two separate alignments? I'm using civil 3d 2008. Help! Thanks

    see example:

If you want to do such a thing and keep it all in one alignment, then the only way I can think of is to use a station equation. This would not be dynamic, so if you edit your alignments, you may have to adjust your station equation, too.

However, I would recommend that you reconsider your approach. It seems like, in many respects, two completely separate alignments would be better than such a dogleg. That dogleg just looks like nothing but a source of trouble.

I aggree with Sinc. Two alignments seems like a much easier way of handling this. In 2010, you can put a PI at the end of each section of the dogleg, use a station equation (as already suggested) and then mask that section of the alignment along the intersecting alignment.
