I am trying to print a filled colored floor plan on my HP 1050c. I have tried every setting, nothing will work. None of my walls or doors show up also. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Sorry, I must have missed this thread yesterday. We have an 1050c+ with 192mb of ram on board connected via ethernet. I find that if you try to print too many color fill plans on one sheet @ 300dpi, it can lead to drops and errors. I usually print these @ 150dpi and they look fine and print much faster. Actually we are now printing all our line drawings at 150 dpi because there is no real dicernible loss of qaulity. Try setting the print quality to 150 and see if it works. The trick begee is refering too has to be changed in the driver on windows, weather it be on your print server or local desktop. This trick will dramitcally increase print spooling times, but will usually work.

I tried setting the print to 150. Doesn't work. The plotter is set up for software on the HP-GL/2 menu. I set printer menu on my computer to 256 colors, didn't work, then set it to printer settings, didn't work. How is your 1050 setup, does the computer control the plotter or does the plotter control?

    hmmmm.....

well, our plotter is connected to the network hub, via the onboard hp jet direct, but all print jobs are controlled by our server running win2k advanced server. The server takes the plots, spool the jobs then sends them to the plotter via a standard hp TCP/IP port. Which is obviously much faster then a printer cable. However the plotter actually processes the plot, not the server. Letting the server process the print jobs will slow everything dow but will stop any "out of memory" problems.

BTW, are you getting an kind of error message on the plotter lCD screen? Like "out of memory" or "check quality"? Or is it just printing wierd?
