Default plot style settings keeps changing

When plotting a drawing with a set plot style, if I change the plotter or paper size, etc. temporarily, the plot setting changes even though I do not select "apply to layout". Is this a global setting I have not seen?

I have to plot and then use the undo command to reset my plot style. Aggravating. Any help?

    Thanks,

    Cliff

The plot settings do not reset once you pick plot. They stick around within that session unless you change them again.

If the "Save settings to Layout" checkbox is checked it will save the settings to your file once you save your actual dwg.

If the checkbox is not checked and you save and exit your file, the next time you open it, it will revert back to whatever plot settings were last saved.

    HTH.

    Thanks,

This was very noticeable as I plotted a portion of a 24" x 36" to my 8-1/2" x 11" printer. Since I changed the origin, the drawing shifted on my screen.

    Thanks again.

Actually this didn't work. The settings do change.

I pulled up an 8-1/2" x 11" landscape drawing. Plotted to PDF while changing the orientation to portrait. I DID NOT select "Apply to Layout" button prior to selecting the "OK" button to plot even though it was not greyed out. I plotted it and the drawing now indicates a portrait orientation on my screen which is supposed to be temporary for this session.

I ended the drawing by saving changes and pulled it back up and the plot changes were in fact saved forcing me to reset the original format.

Any thoughts on why this happens?

    Thanks,
    Cliff

I think he was referring to the save changes to layout tick box, not the apply to layout button at the bottom.
Learn about Page Setups at the top. Set up your common plots (all settings & plotter) and give it a name.
Then you can easily select all your tabs at once and select any page setup (or different ones if you wish) and make you life much easier.
