Is there anyone that has done a complete HVAC project using just REVIT.
We are just about to complete a very complicated data center building in it.
We've been using Revit since it was called Revit Systems. 20 projects later and we still haven't managed to complete all the mechanical work in Revit. Now that I am here heading the charge, we are much closer. Last job we completed had everything in Revit except for a couple schedules. We were ready to use the schedules for everything, but a couple designers decided to drop off the band wagon and ignore our Revit Standards and modeling protocol. So... 100% completion came around and they were wondering why two of the schedules weren't correct. The other 10 schedules were just fine...
Long story short, take baby steps and stay on top of everyone to be serious about doing things right, even if it takes them 3 times as long to get it done. It is definitely possible, as long as you don't have someone cutting you off at the knees or sabotaging your effort.
We have completed 15 projects with 100% HVAC produced in Revit. For a little over one year now we are producing HVAC, plumbing and electrical plans 100% from Revit MEP.
As cporter mentioned, take small steps adding more and more to your model and families until your schedules, details and all supporting items come from Revit.
