Wall Split Horizontal

I am trying to split an exterior wall horizontally and then move the bottom half in plan 1'-0" in order to get the top to overhang. When I do so the top moves with the bottom. Note that I do have other walls that tie into these walls as well perpendicularly as most of the model is complete. Can someone please help me understand how to move the bottom half without moving the top. Thanks!

Try the checking the disjoin option when you move the wall.

i am not sure that i totally follow you, but you may try the following...

the wall may be locked to the other? unlock if you can.

otherwise if you pin the wall you don't want to move, the other may move without the one following.
